Despite of the stress laid on education and training in this country, there is still a shortage of skilled manpower to address the mounting needs and demands of the economy. Skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development of any country. People with higher and better levels of skills adjust more effectively to the challenges and opportunities of the globalization. To sustain and accelerate societal growth trajectory, an environment for sustained and continuous skill development of human power (workforce) to address the employability gap has become a critical imperative. According to different industry reports, as much as 40% of vacancies at the entry level don’t get filled due to paucity of skilled manpower. Industry sectors across the board are facing shortage of skilled talent.

Secondly, there is a need to focus on such students and youth who have not completed their school education (dropout students) or cannot able to do further study after 10th & 12th Std. due to their economic and social condition. A need felt skill based training programs to be offer to such student so they can able to build a carrier accordingly their skill and interest. The SDC provides a platform to facilitate such youth. The SDC is also helping them to develop communication skill and personality development of the candidates during these courses.

In order to bridge this demand supply gap SDC/GGKM has joined hands with State and Central Government departments and its projects/schemes to impart Skills Development Training to such beneficiaries. Some of the ongoing training programmes in partnership with the Government Departments are as under.

Skills Development Centre (SDC) is offering various, short term, IT & Non-IT government courses for students and youth who are dropout students or cannot able to do further study due to several reasons after standard 10th & 12th. At the end of successful completion of each course, the SDC is plying a crucial role in to placement of the candidates at various sectors according to their skill. All IT & Non-IT courses are free of cost or with marginal fee.
